Cimier Swiss Watches: Why aren’t these in the US?

ImageNestled just 30 minutes south of Zürich in the small town of Baar, Switzerland, you’ll find the Cimier Swiss Watch Company.  I have had my eye on the Timesquare since its launch in May of this past year, and it’s not hard to see why.  A square cased watch with a chronograph, day, and date… Steve McQueen would have had a real decision to make had this watch been around in 1971.  Not yet sold in the United States, you’ll need to order directly from their site, or hop a flight to Switzerland.

I love big-name watch brands as much as the next guy, but you have to respect the small, established watch company that focuses on quality and turns out an amazing product.  It also doesn’t hurt that they’ve been doing this since 1925.  You can’t buy heritage.

ImageThroughout the year, Cimier opens their doors to the public and holds Watch Academy classes, where patrons can assemble their own Cimier, under the guidance of the watchmaker masters.

Said to be in talks with retailers, we hope Cimier makes their US debut soon.  Cimier is the French word for crest, the decorative ornament that forms the top of a military helmet, and their watches are just that, beautiful ornaments of form and function.
